  • Time Capsule

I was watching“it’s always sunny in Philadelphia” & in this episode they dig up a time capsule, which they buried 10 years before.

We are so lucky with how social media has evolved, photos are all over internet & now I guess there’s no need for physical photographs.

It puts me in a strange situation; revisiting my past life through what is on my laptop basically, how others have perceived it. .

That is rather shameful is having scenes from my past, but how others have seen it.

There is a good thing about how technology has evolved; I don’t know how, but this blog is kind of my therapy. It makes me more focused on my going’s on.

So I don’t know what I’d put in my time capsule, it’s very thought provoking though. There’re things that are difficult to think…

I couldn’t put my phone in there, even though it is central to my life. You can’t charge things in the time capsule. Probably my coffee cup, to represent my love of coffee, maybe a face mask as a memento of this Covid-19 disaster & maybe my laptop, asleep. so it wouldn’t need charge & I could leave some notes for the future Leuty.

  • 10/02 – Black Books

Because in this current climate the best thing to do at night is watch Netflix, what I’ve done recently is watch Black Books. It’s recommended on Netflix & I’ve wanted it all before but I thought I’d see how much I remember from the first time. It’s very, very amusing so I do hope that it gives you as much enjoyment as it has with me. We could all do with some light entertainment in such a difficult time, so enjoy!

  • 24/03 – Absolutely Fabulous

Because we all need a bit of light relief, I wanted to share with you something that really made me laugh.

It’s an episode of Absolutely Fabulous; this particular one is probably my favourite episode; it’s Episode 6, season 5 (the episode is called “Schmoozin”)

We’re in lockdown, all of us have found ourselves binging on Netflix & good news it is on Netflix!

Finding out the episode details was far more difficult than you would expect!

A brief context is that Eddie (the main character)is excited because Pete, her old boyfriend, started over in the house where they live. They say Pete’s in “the music business”. He gets introduced to the mother & Eddie says that he has found “the has the old Beatles tapes”. He worked in Abby Road while they were recording. Pete now works @ Abby Road, so that is where Pete, Eddie & Patsy (Eddies best friend) go. Eddie has organised a party for the finding of the Beatles tapes in her house. Elton John is meant to be providing the entertainment. Pete is overdubbing the Beatles tapes. He claims “we’re digitalising”

The end of the episode is that they talk to Yoko Ono on a video call. The party is for the missing Beatles tapes which they play & find out that they were recorded over when Pasty & Eddie were in the studio & Patsy, I assume, messed about with the technical equipment while the camera wasn’t on her.

The music starts in classic Beatles fashion & then, as it’s playing, they hear the recording over it. The recording over goes like, where Eddie is singing “I’m walking down the road” etc. It makes me laugh every time. You should watch it!

My take on this is, in the same style “I’m walking round the bed” in the same tune.
