  • 15/4 – the Truman Show

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night!

I watched the Truman show recently & it seems like I am a modern day Truman (as in in the film, not the politician) but with some help from technology. I have Netflix & Facebook just to start with.

With this brain injury, every day just seems like the day before anyway (part of the reason I’m doing my blog so avidly).

A brief synopsis of the film is… I won’t give it to you. Just watch it!

The Truman Show is on Netflix too, so you can & should watch it when you want.

  • 9/3/2021 – Before Sunrise

I watched this really nice film today called “Before Sunrise”. First things first, it’s not on Netflix, but I found it online.

It’s very profound and has some great points. I really can’t recommend it more. It will entertain you and start you thinking.

I tried to do that game that they do in it where you have a partner & you, with your partner, question them & they have to answer 100% trufully without any embarrassment.

I played on WhatsApp with someone who saw the film. We learnt a lot about each other. It is good to play online because if you’re embarrassed it’s easier to hide.

  • The Isolated Cinema

I got enlightened to the isolated cinema, & I hope my readers are as excited about it as I am.

My experience of this festival was that I saw the film “One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest”. Unfortunately I don’t remember a lot about the experience but I do remember that all the staff were dressed like physiatric nurses.

The place was themed like a mental hospital. The staff were actors, acting like they were staff in a psychiatric hostel.

I can’t remember exactly what it was but there were snacks kind of like how popcorn is a normal cinema snack, but these have a film released twist.

In the past the festival’s focus has been “Social Distances”; adventures, things that excite the senses. It relates to how the world is right now in the wake of the pandemic. It queries what films mean when we are isolated completely, in the festival we’re just completely focused on the film .

The point of the festival is that the audience gives their full focus on the film. Also, the whole event is themed on the film so all the food & drink stands are themed around the film the staff are dressed in uniforms that match the theme.
