  • Food

I’ve watched this episode of Human, it’s the first season & the episode is called “Fuel. This episode talks about how our bodies react to different foods.

It starts off talking about glucose. I know (& I bet any other diabetics) know how much glucose affects your energy. The program introduces insulin & says how it works. Insulin carries the glucose to the organs in your body. They use the analogy that cells have doors, & what insulin does is that it opens those doors. Athletes’ cells are 3x more sensitive to insulin. I am type 1 diabetic, so I know a lot about insulin and glucose. Insulin is what I have to inject into my body every day. What I really love is that now I can use my phone to scan my libre.

Glucose is what (I thoroughly recommend) my freestyle libre checks, you can check it out here https ://www.freestylelibre.co.uk/libre/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItL-X5obK8QIVSrDtCh0moQxZEAAYASAAEgKmmfD_BwE

Back to more about this program. When the body needs energy, the storage is the liver. It gets the energy it needs from the liver. When the energy in the liver has run low, it goes to the last resort & uses fat.

What happens is, when the glucose is consumed, it’s sent to the liver & there, it creates an acid, called keytones. When glucose levels drop, both adrenaline & cortisol levels rise. More about keytonescc Co: I actually went into ketoacidosis, I talk about it more in my essay which you can find here:

The places in your brain that are stimulated when we’re hungry are the ones which tell our brain to eat. I guess that’s biological proof for hangry, because your brain releases the anger hormone when you’re hungry.

  • Stages of Grief

So they say one goes through 5 stages of grief, those being denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

This brain injury & doing this blog has made me a lot more introspective, so it will hopefully make me go through all the stages.

Amputees, for example, go through the stages of grief for their missing limb. It’s kind of like grief for their missing appendage, instead of a loved one.

Amputees get the same feelings as people in morning; for their missing appendage. They still go through the process of feeling denial, anger, bargaining, depression and eventually acceptance

Most people want to know how someone has come to be an amputee, I guess people want to hear the juicy bits.

There’s so much advantages in prosthetic limbs recently, unfortunately you can’t get a prosthetic brain but there has been a huge advance in technology & in knowledge of the the brain.

  • Educational Porn

    Bet that caught your attention!

I was watching “trigger Warning with Killer Mike”, the second episode being about educational porn. It says school teaches you unrealistic goals, that it subtly teaches children to obey. Our schools allow us to have unrealistic dreams.

I am trying to be realistical & I’m trying to find work now, thinking realistically. I’m spending most of my time & effort on my blog, so I guess that makes me a writer.

I assume you’re thinking this post will be more about porn. It doesn’t include any nudity. Hopefully it’ll inspire you to watch the episode.

Killer Mike is on Netflix. This makes me want to learn how to lay floors, build a box, wire speakers & while watching porn. The episode is called “school” & it’s in season one.

  • Killer Mike

It’s on Netflix & it’s fucking brilliant. Very entrepreneurial. It’s on Netflix.

Check it out, it’s called “Trigger Warning with Trigger Mike”.

Here’s a taster, maybe it’ll get you hooked cause it has with me

  • African Americans

This made me really appreciate black people, I hope it’ll open your mind

All you have to do is go to Netflix & look for “Killer Mike”.

I can’t sell it anymore, you just have to take my word for it. It’ll change your life.

  • Meet the Old/New Leuty

There are a lot of things I have noticed that the new Leuty likes which I imagine the old Leuty liked I kind of think that is what the “original” Leuty like. Things that are quite multisensory like certain perfumes, food, music, films & programs. There are things that I know that the “old Leuty” liked which I expect the “original Leuty” will too. Just trying to submerge myself in these things.

So in attempt to advertise & I hope you’ll try them too, here’s a multisensory experience of what I’m trying to immerse myself in, attempting to get the original Leuty back.

I really like interesting perfumes, an example which comes to mind for something quite avant- guard is gengermbre by
Diptyque, & acqua di parma. But the original Leuty skills like Prada Amber Eau de Parfum. An additional note, the sense no of smell is directly linked to your memory. This part of the brain is called olfactory senses, your nose is just below your brain.

Right now I really like seafood, particularly shellfish. I’ve always had a penchant for coffee, I’m addicted to my Nespresso machine.

I currently like a bunch of genres music wise. I tend to stay away from rap & hiphop, for no particular reason I do like the planets suit by Gustav Holst & the strokes, born ruffians & kygo. So a big range, you should check them out & see if we’d get along.

For films I have kept a lot of my old DVDs, CDs & books so I guess I can re-discover them. I’ve already mentioned that I fall in love with certain films, books & music. I hate to jump on the bandwagon but I find myself paying a lot of attention to Netflix right now.

I have always wanted the Simpson’s on channel 4 at 6pm, & that I have taken from childhood as a routine. More recently I’ve lived things that seem to reach me, things like QI, documentaries, David Attenborough, Louis Thorough , the list goes on & on.

  • 19/6 – Synesthesia

    Synesthesia is when you replace one sense with another one. A great example is smelling colours or hearing perfume, more than just the sound of the scoosh though. It’s very difficult to get your head around, but I watched a great episode which will help demonstrate my point, it does take some effort on your part but it’s worth it. I’ll give you the series, you just have to find the episode. You will like this series;

    https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81139212?s=i&trkid=13747225&vlang=en&clip=81456294

The series is called Human, the world within. It is on Netflix! The episode I was inspired by & would recommend is season 1 episode 5.

Among other things, it really does make you think “what’s an ability, & what is a disability?”

It talks about this girl who’s passion is music, but she’s deaf. So she literally feels that music. She perceives the rhythm through the vibrations created by the sound.

The word i a mix ,”Syn esthesia” is from Greek words: “synth” , meaning “together” and “ethesia” “perception” meaning perception.

  • 11/6 – The Heart

I was watching this thing (which is on Netflix, hurray) called “Human, the world within”. It’ll inspire a lot of future blog posts, it really does tech you a lot. I guess I have a thirst for knowledge, that is maybe why it interests me so.

In this particular episode it talks about the relationship between the heart & the brain.

There is a syndrome cardo subo cardiomyopathy otherwise known as death from a broken heart. The cardo subo is an ornament found in Japan. This pot is known to be famous for its shape; it has a thin neck & a thick mid-section. When you go through a lot of stress, like death of a loved one, your heart reacts & the heart’s shape turns into the shape of a cardo subo.

  • 10/6 – Queen

I just wanted the biopic about Freddie Mercury & my god, was it good. A real feel good movie. It really did tell the story about Freddie’s life & how he operates.

I watched this with my career & almost every song we sang along to.

I don’t know where my passion for queen came from but I watched it on Amazon Prime, & everyone seems to be addicted to streaming programs so this will probably up queens popularity.

  • 1/6 – My Beautiful Broken Brain

I watched this brilliant documentary which really hit home. It was about a woman who had a strong resemblance to exactly what I’m going though, expanding about her long recovery experience.

Lotje is kind of like Leuty!

She had a stroke though, whereas I had a traumatic brain injury (both brain damage). Another new normal I have to relearn (or remaster) is my diabetes.

I guess my way of dealing with my brain injury is writing this blog. (The film was recommended to by a friend, allowed Ezz) & from how he described it, it sounded just like my story.

She says this which is how I feel “I’m obsessed with recording everything but unable to remember anything” . I guess that’s what I’m trying to do with my blog; record everything I’m going through, because it’s a way to get out of isolation.

It does have a happy ending, the success of the film shows her determination & perseverance can help you achieve your goals .

It’s really interesting & good news! It’s on Netflix so check it out now.

One good thing is it’s time, content & platform. A film telling a true story about someone who has a brain injury. It has been let on Netflix at a time when the whole world is addicted to Netflix. I, too, find myself often blogging about some film, & saying that it’s convenient for my readers cause it’s on Netflix, so it’s a perfect combination.

    Bluntly, watch it
