No, she didn’t.
The emerging economy; the motivations for an organisation is to invest in technology. Throughout industries, the flexibility new tech offers is a big driver for freelancing and partaking in the GIG economy (named so as a Gig is slang for a live musical performance, usually short and casual). When new technology emerges, it is imperative to allow for development, and new markets to be researched. Benefits including insurance, job security and poor policies are not well implemented, though.
A good thing is increased “out of the box” thinking; levels of productivity, no need to commute to work which cuts time, cost and emissions. traffic and job satisfaction.
But a bad thing would be a definitely to define the work-life balance…. We all know how difficult it can be to prioritise, and give one thing your FULL attention (stop flicking through those apps on your phone).
This is effectively flexi-time, “working from home”…
More control for employees though, there’s a brief and a deadline. No office, no official working time (think 9 till 5).
Now, to compare cow-working with simple collaboration, cowworking is more innovative, more committed, intense and in depth.
The industry that it wouldn’t work in, is emergency services, but this moo working is effectively like a constant “on call”.
Seems like in other industries, there’s a real shift in control….
