I used to be super skinny, but I was in a coma for about 10 months and was pretty sedentary (learning how to walk again) and gained a bit of weight.
I have some clothes from my past life which I’m very reluctant to throw away. We have a special relationship with each garment. For some garments we like because we did a certain thing whilst wearing, or we like certain aspects of the design.
I kept this brilliant pair of jeans which were personalised with my name embroidered on the side seam. I love them & they’re irreplaceable, but they’re too small for me.
What I did is spoke to my friend who’s a tailor. They’re being tailored to a bigger size , so they’ll fit me.
Maybe there’s a business in this; people wanting clothes that they already have, but making them a bigger size.
Being a wearable technology designer, I try to find a digital way to make your clothes. It does also help the attraction of “reusing” what you already have. An environmental aspect to this plan.
