Two books I’m reading which I really enjoy for a number of reasons are really relate to what has happened to me. One is “The Brain that Changes Itself” and the other is “The Buying Brain”. Both are very affiliated with how tremendous the brain is.

“The brain-that supercomputer inside your skull- is capable of roughly 200 million billion calculators per second “

    Quoted from “The Buying Brain”

“The Brain that Changes Itself “ is good too but I started to read it a while ago. The two do complement each other. I guess both “the Buying Brain” & “The Brain that Changes Itself” are both about Brains & how they deal with appeals. Especially, how their working procedures apply to selling products and how it affects fashion. And how fashion designers and product sellers manipulate brains to sell their products.

    It’s actually 5/12

So now I’m watching “Ratcher”. Watched it last night and am going to watch it again today. It looks like it will be like Hannibal but I’ve only seen one episode although the first episode feels quite creepy. A good introduction. I hope it will only get better. Seems like it’s all the rage now. We will see.

Today I heard a story from my dad; the amazing story about how I got my brain injury. I was on holiday in Vietnam, but was working & living in Hong Kong. I travelled to Vietnam by plane. I rented a motorbike & it crashed. I nearly lost my life. I went to hospital initially in Vietnam then in Thailand. I was in a pretty deep coma and couldn’t talk or even open my eyes for a long time. When I did say something, my first words were ,”fuck off”. I went to a very good hospital in Thailand called bumrumgrad.

I want to thank all of the people who have been here for me in this very difficult time. Now I’m using each carer in their particular skill.

So this entry is meant to be about meditation so I’ll tell you what I know; so I do it every day and do it in silence with my legs crossed. When I meditate I focus on what I plan to do in the day. Meditation is meant to be relaxing but I use it to plan for the future. I keep a timer and try and pinpoint any thing that troubles me (for example things I would research on my phone) . Like the Buddhist monks I use that time to plan my day ahead, it does help me to be organised. Because I learn something new every day I would like to share it with you so maybe in my next post I’ll tell you what I learnt that day!

Today I had my physio and it felt brilliant. To prepare for me living at my home I learned how to walk up stairs. I showed my physio my walking. In other subjects I watched a good film today called “The Great Hack” which really opens your eyes and I’d really recommend it! But it does show how our individual opinions matter. So this is my first post so I hope your recovery (if you have a TBI) is as successful as I think mine will be. So just some background information about me is that I used to be a fashion designer and connected fashion with technology (used to be brilliant at drawing), and I am in recovery after an accident. And I would like to be a help to others who are in a similar situation.

Read my next post, please. It will be about meditation.
