  • 14/4 – Put yourself in my shoes

A great analogy to describe my situation right now which will allow you to put yourself into my shoes it is; remembering, for me (particularly details of my past life) is as if you try writing with your non-dominant hand. Just try it! It’s, it’s mentally & physically very difficult.

I’m trying to build a new normal, to build a routine so my brain doesn’t have to think about the things I do, I hope they become like an automatic reaction. A different analogy for this is riding a bicycle. You learn how to do it, & once you’ve learnt, you don’t think about it.

  • 3/4 – Routine

One of the things I’m trying to do is build up is a routine so my day is made up of things I want to do.

With this I’m trying to build up a routine so it evolves into an automatic response.

Humans learn through repetition. A good example is riding a bike. We practice so much until it becomes something that we don’t even think at all about. What happens is a neurotransmitter in released in the brain called acetylcholine. It then fires from your brain to the muscle & controls your movements.

What I’m trying to do now is build a routine so it evolves into an automatic response & I don’t have to think about it, i just do it automatically.

I guess it will work for fans of my blog too. They’ll know my whereabouts & my route. So it benefits us both. I have particular dates that are allocated to certain people & certain actions are represented by certain people. For example I know on x day I do this with this person.

  • 31/3- Studying Psychology

I didn’t have this thought until recently, but there’s a whole different audience I have.

I watched a really interesting movie which I’d highly recommend. It’s not on Netflix so it a bit of a bitch to watch though. Its called “Memento” It tells the story of a guy who has a brain injury, so his short term memory is pretty much nonexistent.

In my case, those people are those who’re interested in my blog, because I’ve had a brain injury & this is how I’m getting through it. My thoughts are that these people may be studying neuroscience. My friend who I was talking to on the phone said he studies neuropsychology so he’s interested how things make me feel. Thinking of how people feel is important, in my case, fashion. We like to know, psychologically what is behind the product. Art, itself, sells itself through its hidden meanings, & fashion is the modern day “art”.

That’s what every designer needs to do; focus on the second, less obvious market.

  • 27/4 – Party Planning

The fashion industry has taken a huge blow by this pandemic, but there’ll be a big serge when we’re all are allowed to see others.

I believe there will be huge serge, particularly in party clothes, soon. There’s no need to party recently right now.

After all parties aren’t allowed anyway, with small exception. No one has any reason to celebrate anyway.

When lockdown restrictions have got even more relaxed, there will be a lot to celebrate. There’ll probably be a lot of parties, & there will be more demand for celebration wear.

  • 27/3 – The Prefix “re”

I have found that there’s a lot of “re”s in my life right now, meaning I have a lot to do again.

This is me learning things agains, or RElearning. It’s what I consider to be the new Leuty , trying to get the old Leuty again. It’s my voyage of discovery where I’m building the new me.

To start with I’m releasing how to walk again. The best analogy is walking, for me, is like writing with your non-dominant hand. Mentally & psychologically challenging.

Another, less physical thing is to practice my memory. I keep a diary, trying to record what I’ve done each day, & I test myself about what I had for lunch the day before.

  • 21/3 Jitterbug Perfume

What I’m doing in this moment is revising my old favourite book which I kept. So this time I’m a bit older, I’ll get a different perspective. I’m re-reading a book called Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbin.

I have only read a little bit of it this time around, but I’m already thinking that his writing styles must be like having a conversation with me.

I’m paying a lot more attention, actually taking notes so I remember it better this time. I try to work on my memory & my reading so this is killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

I did recommend it to others & they’ve read it & loved it, so I’m going to recommend it to my blog readers too, you should read it, beat the boredom this lockdown has given you!

  • 19/3 – Online Shopping

In current times almost all of us have been driven online to shop. For most things, you can get them online, but what I’m getting at is clothing (because it’s my trade).

They design around that perfect body, & they call that the “sample”. They make the sample usually very little & trickle down from that, to the bigger sizes.

Each brand evolves in a different way. They may have started out from a different point.

For each brand, each has a “model” body, which most people can’t fit.

Each brand has its own DNA, some grow in different ways, some have a different starting point.

Just remember that their is no fitting rooms so you’re stuck with what you’ve bought.

  • 22/3- Schedule

Some things are set in stone, some are variable (like “leisure time”). So this will be a good way for me to keep track of what I do. It lets me look at how I spent my time. It let’s me share with my readers how I waste my time.

I try to keep a routine so I can predict what is in store for the future. I think it’s best for me to tell all my readers what I try to do every day.

I start off doing exercises. I walk around the bed 15 times @ breakfast, 5 @ lunch & 5 @ dinner. After the first round of exercises I meditate.

Maybe in leisure time I did some cooking, which maybe helps me prepare for dinner, or reading, or blog work.

Then I have leisure time (like cooking, reading, chess etc).

  • 15/3 – falling in love again

One good thing that I am testing right now is rediscovering all the things I once loved, & falling in love with them again, just this time a bit difficult.

I have tried things like music, books & films. Now I’m a little older I can rediscover them & rediscover then in a different way.

I have kept a lot of books, DVDs & CDs. I must have really loved them in the first place, I now get to rediscover them again.

Just an example; the movie i relearnt was the Hitch hickers Guide to the Galaxy, the music was Shy Child & a book which I once loved & plan on rereading is Jitterbug Perfume.

  • 7/4 – 13 going on 30

I was watching 13 going on 30 & felt so much empathy with the protagonist. 13 going on 30 is on Netflix, so if you do watch it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

A brief synopsis of the film is the protagonist is turning 13, not having a very good time being 12. She throws a birthday party where she receives some magic dust. There’s a magazine in her room, saying how good “30, flirty & fabulous” is. She ends up playing a game where she goes in up in a closet, & the magic dust falls on her, & she magically turns 30. The rest of the film tells a story about how her life pans out as a 30 year old.

It has a happy ending so I hope that I get my happy ending too.

I relate to this because I, like the main character, find it very difficult to remember my past life. She magically turns 30, but she can’t remember the time in between.
